Battle of Britain Anniversary Event

A note from Roger Eve - Hub Captain - London

Hi Guys, A date for your diaries Saturday 17th July 2010 (Sunday Morning 18th in ANZAC countries) It is way past time for another Flyin, so we hope to make this one a good one.

We will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain by flying WW2 1940s aircraft. We will "scramble" all together at Tangmere (or possibly Biggin Hill), and then fly in a loose formation passing over Stapleford, North Weald and on to Duxford. We might attempt a fly past there before landing to refuel and for a break. We can then fly South again landing at Manston.

The flight time will allow for pilots from the USA as well as Australia and New Zealand to take part. I will post more information and provide a web page nearer the time. This could be great fun, and something of a flying test to keep together throughout the flight.

Best wishes Roger (UK)

This sounds like a good time to dust off your Spits and Hurries and get over there to help out the Brits.
