Clockwork Orange
« on: July 22, 2012, 01:00:19 pm »
Good morning Gentlemen,
I defer to the vast knowledge base of Noble Christchurch members in an effort to solve a perplexing scenery problem I have (FS2004).
I have for some time been getting at various locations (airports) some taxiways and/or even runways depicted in a spectacular Fanta Orange colour. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how the hell can I get rid of it!!  ???
I look forward to an avalanche of responses  ;)
Thanks in advance
Mark

One might say Mark, what have you been on??

Never seen it before, but have you updated your video drivers recently?
if so you may have to revert to the previous driver, or if not, I suggest that you do.. Might work??
My two bobs worth!  :D

Hello Mark, there is one sure way of fixing the problem & that is to re-install FS2004.Everytime i have had a problem with FS2004 it has always been scenery related.Don't know if deleting your existing fs9cfg would fix the problem,it wouldn't hurt to try "Path= system(c)/Documents and settings/User/Application Data/Microsoft/FS9/".Working back from the problem would be another way,try to figure out which scenery caused the problem and delete it and go back to the default scenery,if you backed up your scenery cfg replace it with the default maybe,i have one if you need it.The fact that the scenery is going orange could very well be an issue with the graphic's card as Tony said, roll back the driver or "change the card".For what it's worth ,remove the fan of the cpu & clean all the dust from the veins & the fan itself, then remove the graphics card and clean all the dust from the fan. After doing all that you will be surprised how well FS2004 will perform.Make sure you De-static yourself first though "just run both hands over the top of the case".

Thanks heaps for the suggestions men  ;)
It seems to have resolved itself as a result of me faffing around with landclass files and the order in which they were placed in the scenery library. This solution, of course, was entirely an accident on my behalf  ;D....but that's science I guess..
Cheers
